IBMC College Hires Shari Thorson to Instruct Cosmetology Students

Experienced educator and business owner instructs hair, skin and nail students at the School of Cosmetology at IBMC College.

Shari Thorson began her career as a cosmetology instructor in 1991. In her extended career as an educator, Thorson has instructed all levels of students, from junior to advanced, as well as developed detailed course curriculum. From 1991 to 1998, she worked for Hair Dynamics Educational Center, where she then worked again from 2008 to 2014. Instructor at IBMC College's School of Cosmetology

In addition to her work experience as an educator, Thorson has an extensive business background. In 1985, she opened Tonsorial Art, which she owned and operated until 1990. From 1998 to 2001, Thorson was the Program Manager for the Division of Educational Outreach at Colorado State University. And, in 2002, she was the Business Manager at Novation Commercial Services, where she continued to work until 2009. She also owned a salon service company that provided beauty services to nursing home residents.

With her strong background in cosmetology and business, Thorson will be a great asset to IBMC College’s students, as she will be key in helping them develop and master a variety of beauty-related skills, as well as sound business acumen.
