Medical Assisting Programs

As an IBMC Medical Assistant degree or diploma graduate, you will be able to assist doctors with administrative and clinical needs, such as tasks working in the front and back office. These could include charting, filing, weighing patients, taking blood pressure, and other duties. You may also work with doctors to assist them in the examining rooms with injections, phlebotomy, equipment sterilization, and suture removal.

In class, you’ll learn medical terminology, medical insurance billing as well as medical office procedures. While at your externship, you will use those medical skills in a real workplace environment.

Upon successful completion of the program and passing of appropriate exams, you will receive the following certifications: Nationally Certified Medical Assistant (RMA), CPR and First Aid Certification (Adult, Child and Infant), Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and Bloodborne Pathogens Training – Preventing Disease Transmission.
