The Medical Assisting Degree Program at the Institute of Business & Medical Careers prepares adult learners to enter into a rewarding profession in the medical field in just 19 months or less*, all while raising a family, working or living life to the fullest.

This medical program teaches students how to execute blood draws, EKG’s, radiography assistance and give injections to patients.

In addition, medical assisting students learn how to prepare lab specimens, aid with casting, remove sutures, take vital signs and perform back office procedures– all learned by attending classes Monday-Thursday in the morning, afternoon or evening…just four hours per day.

Another important part of the medical assisting curriculum is the one-one-one interaction students receive from experienced instructors, devoted to making a difference. Instructors give crucial feedback and work directly with students to ensure that each task is being performed correctly. They also share valuable medical industry trends and often times, invite healthcare professionals to provide a guest lecture.

CPR and First Aid Certification for infants, children and adults, recognition as a Nationally Registered Medical Assistant and Automated External Defibrillator training are major components of the Medical Assisting Degree Program.

Prior to graduating, Career Services Placement Coordinators equip students with resume writing skills and interview preparation techniques. These Placement Coordinators partner with local professionals to help place medical assisting students in a five-week externship and graduates in careers in a medical offices, physician’s clinics, hospitals, surgery centers or insurance companies.
