COLORADO SPRINGS, Co. – IBMC College, a locally owned career-training institution, hosted a successful and engaging Spring Advisory Board meeting at its Colorado Springs campus, 6805 Corporate Drive, Suite 100, on April 22.
The inaugural meeting focused on developing the curriculum of IBMC’s career-training programs by asking community employers what they expect from their future employees. The feedback from these employers guides the lessons that are taught in the classroom, allowing students to be up to date regarding the most relevant technologies and industry trends.
IBMC Colorado Springs Career Services team, comprised of Leo White and Caitlin Caviness, along with Campus President Mark Walker led discussions with representatives from Massage Envy, University of Colorado Health, Thrive Health Systems, Peak Spa and Wellness and 9Round Kickbox Fitness.
“The employers provided a lot of great insight and were really engaged in the conversations,” Melissa Whitten, IBMC’s Regional Director of Student and Careers Services, said. “They were really appreciative of having the opportunity to be heard and to be a part of enhancing (IBMC’s) curriculum and changing lives.”
