IBMC College Greeley cosmetology students to volunteer at Weld Project Connect

IBMC College Greeley cosmetology student volunteers will be lending a helping hand – and a pair of scissors – to Weld County residents in need during the 2016 Weld Project Connect.

The one-day event, held from noon-4:30 p.m. on October 14 at Island Grove Regional Park, provides numerous on-site services – including health screenings, resume writing help, education counseling, veteran services – directly to individuals and families who are struggling to pay for these services on their own.

Several cosmetology students from IBMC College’s Greeley campus is will be on-hand to provide haircuts to attendees. Eleven student volunteers provided more than 240 free haircuts to Weld County residents at last year’s Weld Project Connect, which served more than 1,350 people.

Weld Project Connect is a joint effort between the city of Greeley, the Board of Weld County Commissioners, United Way of Weld County, North Colorado Medical Center and many others, offered about 68 different services at no cost to residents.
