Students from the Medical Assisting, Massage Therapy and Business programs at IBMC College in Fort Collins, Longmont and Greeley are volunteering their time and skills during the 9Health Fairs on April 28-29 at Christ Center Community Church, 2700 S. Lemay Ave. in Fort Collins, and on April 29 at Fort Lupton High School, 530 Reynolds St. in Fort Lupton.

According to the 9Health Fair’s website, the fair is the “largest volunteer-driven, non-profit health and education program in the nation. 9Health Fair gives you the tools you need to take responsibility for your own heath. We are committed to providing life-saving early detection and prevention to help you and your family stay healthy.”

Medical Assisting students from IBMC College will be administering blood pressure checks, as well as performing blood draws, while being supervised by their instructors. Students had to undergo a rigorous application process to be able to work in the phlebotomy clinic – having to successfully complete 25 blood draws before being able to qualify.

IBMC College Massage Therapy students and students from the Business programs at IBMC College will be helping with administration tasks and screenings, such as checking patients into the fair, handing out refreshments, helping with set-up and tear-down, as well as escorting patients from one station to the next.
