IBMC College Colorado Springs to Partner with Local Pima Medical Institute,
4 Other Colleges to Offer Program Transfers
IBMC College has announced that they will cease operations at the Colorado Springs Campus in Fall 2017, and transfer all students to partnering colleges and institutions. While IBMC College remains in excellent standing with the Colorado Department of Education and ACICS, this news comes on the heels of low student enrollment numbers, a high degree of competition in the career college sector and accreditation changes.
For the past two years, IBMC College has worked incredibly hard to create a quality environment in which students in southern Colorado could receive career training. The staff and faculty have truly given their best to offer our students a positive and life-changing experience. However, with declining enrollment and large operating costs in this market, IBMC College needs to close the Colorado Springs location. The last day of classes at this campus will be October 13, 2017.
When IBMC College purchased Intellitec Medical Institute, it had nearly 300 students; today, the campus has a little more than 100 students. The process of moving from ACICS to ACCSC accreditation severely stalled our ability to submit and offer new programs in this market. This has ultimately led to the difficult decision to leave the Colorado Springs market.
Keeping Our Commitment to Students
and Helping Them Finish What They Started
In an effort to help Colorado Springs students continue learning the valuable skills they need and graduate, IBMC College has secured an agreement with nationally accredited Pima Medical Institute in Colorado Springs, a reputable college with roots firmly established in the Springs since 2002. Pima Medical Institute will conduct program transfers beginning in August in many of the career-training programs students are currently enrolled in at IBMC College.
“With this next chapter, we are proud of the strong relationships IBMC College has established with great, area colleges that will provide our students with the very best opportunities to obtain the competence and confidence needed to complete their education and begin working in rewarding career fields.
“These colleges have worked with area companies for years and can be counted on by employers to produce skilled graduates.”Steve Steele, Chief Executive Officer, IBMC College
