IBMC College Cheyenne welcomes back familiar faces to faculty team

IBMC College Cheyenne campus is excited to announce two familiar faces will join its education team. Donna Channel brings real-world work experience to the classroom as Cheyenne’s newest massage therapy adjunct instructor; and IBMC College graduate Jessica Downs will teach medical billing and coding classes as an adjunct instructor at the Cheyenne campus, located at 1854 Dell Range Blvd.

Donna Channel

IBMC College welcomes licensed massage therapist and former instructor, Donna Channel, to the position of Adjunct Instructor, where she will teach students pursuing massage therapy careers at the Cheyenne campus.

Channel returns to the IBMC College faculty team after pursuing her career as a licensed massage therapist at Avenues Therapy Clinic, where she has worked since 1999. She first taught at IBMC in June 2007, while also working as the IBMC College Massage Clinic Coordinator and Extern Coordinator, where she provided instruction in all aspects of massage and helped graduate massage therapists coordinate their schedules and maintained the integrity of the clinic, college and its massage therapy graduates.

Channel became a licensed massage therapist after completing her education at the Healing Arts Institute in Fort Collins in 2000.

Jessica Downs

With 14 years of experience, Jessica Downs will be a welcomed addition to the medical billing and coding instructing team at the Cheyenne campus. Downs possesses a background in multiple billing software, as well as healthcare office procedures. Before coming to IBMC College, she was employed by WINhealth as its Provider Relations and Claims Liaison. Previously, she has worked as a Medical Billing Specialist for America’s Express Urgent Care and as a Charge Entry Clerk for Cheyenne Regional Medical Group, where she has worked at since 2009.

She graduated from IBMC College with an associate’s degree in Medical Billing & Coding. She became a Certified Professional Coder in 2012 and obtained her ICD-10 certification in 2015.

Both Channel and Downs are a welcomed addition and will be beneficial to the students and staff at IBMC College.
