Pootthachart “Opp” Slawson will open career opportunities for IBMC students, as she has been promoted to the Career Services Coordinator at the IBMC College Fort Collins campus, located at 3842 S. Mason St.
In her new position, Slawson will primarily be responsible for serving as a liaison to the Fort Collins business community by networking and developing externship sites for IBMC College students. In addition, she will help current students with interview preparation, resume creation and networking.
Slawson has over a decade of experience working in education and customer service. Her most recent appointment at IBMC College before landing her promotion was interacting and providing support for the evening students at the campus as the Student Support Specialist. Before joining IBMC College, she worked as an instructional assistant for special education at Kruse Elementary in Fort Collins and Rocky Heights Middle School in Highlands Ranch. She has also worked as a receptionist, substitute teacher and medical assistant for various businesses, school districts and clinics.
Slawson graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Maryland University College in Adelphi, Maryland, and earned her Associate of Science degree in Social Science from Thomas Nelson Community College in Hampton, Virginia.
