The Institute of Business & Medical Careers, Inc. welcomes Tom Murphy, Ph.D., to the position of Adjunct Instructor in the Medical Billing & Coding Degree Program and Diploma Program at the Fort Collins campus, 3842 South Mason Street.

As Medical Billing & Coding Specialists, students will be trained in-depth on CPT, ICD-9, insurance reimbursements, physician chart auditing as well as HIPPA and compliance issues. Student will also complete a five week externship prior to completing their individual program.

Murphy brings a medical and business management background to the classrooms of IBMC, where he has been employed as the Business Manager at A Step Ahead Foot and Ankle Center in Fort Collins and Loveland, CO from 2006-Present, Business Manager at Longevity Medical Center in Santa Barbara, CA from 2005-2006, and Communications Director/Campaign Strategist at Ferial Masry for California State Assembly, 37th District in Ventura and Los Angeles counties in 2004.

He holds a Ph.D. in Political Philosophy from New School for Social Research in New York, NY, a Certificate from Goethe Institute, based out of Germany, in German Linguistics, a Master’s Degree in Political Science from the University of Arizona in Political Science and Bachelor’s of Science Degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Biology and Political Science.
