IBMC’s Computer Support Degree Program Welcomes Software Engineer

IBMC College in Greeley Adds a Software Engineer to Teach Students in the Computer Program

IBMC College in Greeley, Colorado welcomes Nick Evans, Software Engineer, to the School of Business, where he will provide technology and computer support training to students enrolled in the Computer Support Degree program.

In his new role, Evans will utilize his software engineer and software developer experience to prepare students for careers in IT.  In the coursework, students will learn computer network technologies, software applications, troubleshooting techniques, Windows operating systems, mobile devices and gain the skills needed to perform effectively in Help Desk types of environments.

Evans currently works as a Software Engineer at Virtual Panoramics, LLC in Westminster.  From February 2010 to June 2012 he was employed at Zvelo, in Greenwood Village, as a Software Engineer and a Software Developer and System Administrator at SearchLogic in Boulder from September 2002-March 2004.

He is versed in the following operating systems: Linux, Windows Server 2000, XP, Vista, OS X and iOS as well as these Android languages: HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, Perl, Python, Bash, C, and C++. His Java Database expertise includes MySQL5, PostgresSQL 9.1, MongoDB and Hadoop/HBase.  Cassandra Software skillsets encompass MS Office, Visio, Project, Adobe Photoshop, Apache HTTP, ActiveMQ, VirtualBox,VMware Workstation, Eclipse, Git and SVN.

Evans graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Computing Technology in 2009 and a Concentration in Computing Technology.
