At IBMC College, there’s no need to worry about starting your resume from scratch after graduation. In addition to hands-on classroom training, and as a part of your educational journey, you’ll gain experience in your field before completing your diploma, degree or certificate.
Externships
For Medical, Dental, Business and Legal Programs
An externship is your opportunity to start working in a business or healthcare setting as a part of your training at IBMC College. Similar to an internship, you’ll perform duties within a company. That means you’ll be able to put industry work experience on your resume — before you even graduate. Often, IBMC students are even hired on as full-time employees after completing their externships.
Getting Started in Your Externship
When the time comes to prepare for your externship, you’ll be working closely with our Career Services department. They’ll work with you to discuss your strengths and goals, and will contact companies that would likely be a good fit. They can also help you with a company you have already identified as a place you would like to do your externship. Communicating with your Career Services Coordinator will help to ensure a positive, successful externship experience.
Clinic Experience
For Cosmetology, Barbering, Hairstyling, Esthetician and Therapeutic Massage Programs
IBMC College Cosmetology, Barbering, Hairstyling, Esthetician and Therapeutic Massage students gain real-world experience by perfecting their skills in the on-campus Student Beauty Services and Massage Clinics, which are open to the public. Students will interact with clients to master hands-on practical skills and perform services for clients and guests.
