IBMC College Expands into Colorado Springs with the Acquisition of IntelliTec Medical Institute

The Laub Company, parent company of IBMC College in Fort Collins, Greeley, Longmont, CO and Cheyenne, WY, has signed an agreement to purchase IntelliTec Medical Institute in Colorado Springs, CO.

(Fort Collins & Colorado Springs, Colorado): Fort Collins-based IBMC College announced today that their parent company, The Laub Company, has purchased IntelliTec Medical Institute in Colorado Springs, CO, making IBMC College the largest, privately owned for-profit career college chain in Colorado. The financial terms of this agreement are not being disclosed.

“The purchase of IntelliTec Medical Institute is an exciting opportunity for students and staff alike. Both organizations share a passion for helping lead individuals to more promising futures through education and career training,” stated Steve Steele, CEO of IBMC College. “We look forward to continuing to change the lives of students and provide the Colorado Springs community with trained, ready-to-work externs and graduates.”

IntelliTec Medical Institute will be re-branded to IBMC College in the immediate future, pending select regulatory and accrediting agency approvals, which are expected to take place in the next 30-45 days. This would bring IBMC College’s footprint to five campuses, consisting of 128,164 total square feet, 1,300+ enrolled students and 350 employees, when factoring this new campus location at 6805 Corporate Drive, Suite #100 in Colorado Springs, CO.

Each college had longevity in their respective communities.

Since 1966, IntelliTec Medical Institute has supplied Colorado Springs with healthcare-related career training. The 43,000 square foot campus currently offers program in the following fields: Dental Assisting, Expanded Duty Dental Assisting, Health Information Management, Massage Therapy, Medical Assisting, Medical Laboratory Technician and Personal Training. An on-site student massage clinic, offices, training classrooms and labs are also present.

IBMC College’s role in the Northern Colorado and Southern Wyoming communities has been vital for nearly three decades in furnishing students with the training and skills they need to thrive, as well as supplying local employers with a constant base of graduates.

In 1987, this Colorado-owned company stemmed from Medical Careers Training Center in Fort Collins, CO. It was then was purchased in 1991 by The Laub Company under the Institute of Business Careers and later re-branded to IBMC College. Local Owners, Rich and Collen Laub, together with their staff and faculty, increased IBMC’s reach and began expanding campuses and program offerings, due to demands in the market from employers and the need for career training services.

To date, IBMC College offers Accounting and Business Administration, Computer Support, Cosmetology, Dental Assisting, Dental Office Administration, Esthetician, Hairstyling, Massage, Medical Assisting, Medical Billing & Coding, Nail Technician, Paralegal Studies and Pharmacy Technician programs at select campuses in Fort Collins, CO; Greeley, CO; Longmont, CO and Cheyenne, WY.

The healthcare programs offered at IBMC College’s existing campuses closely mirror those that are available in the Colorado Springs area at IntelliTec Medical Institute. This will be beneficial with the acquisition and facilitate a smoother transition for all parties.

As far as expanding all of IBMC College’s current programs to the Colorado Springs market is concerned, there are no immediate plans for this to take place.

“Our biggest focus continues to be on our students, in all regions, and providing each one with the support, quality education and skills he or she needs to be successful, and further that success with career placement assistance that directly ties into the student’s field of study,” stated Steele.
