IBMC College Participates In Leadership Fort Collins Community Garden

As part of Leadership Fort Collins, a team of individuals gathered supplies and volunteers to coordinate the installation of soil flower beds to create a community garden at Respite Care, Inc..

Miramont Lifestyle Fitness raised over $1,000 and coordinated the event. The Leadership Team is comprised of the following individuals:

Andres Gavaldon- Strategic Finance Manager, City of Fort Collins – Savannah Geasey- Leadership Giving Manager, United Way of Larimer County – Sarah Johnston- Director of Recruitment and Selection, Northwestern Mutual – Eric Thompson- Campus President, IBMC College – Lindsay Randall-Executive Director of Member Services, General Manager-South.

We would like to thank Miramont Lifestyle Fitness for their $1,000 donation for supplies, Front Range Community College Welding Program-College Now for donating their time, expertise, and materials in creating the steel raised garden beds, and Drew Cronin for the garden design and landscape consulting.

Respite Care, Inc. is a non-profit organization that provides short term, quality care for children with development disabilities, giving respite to their families, and enhancing the quality of life for the entire family. We believe that a child with a disability is a child first and that his or her challenges are secondary. 

The community garden is to provide therapeutic experiences and sensory learning to the children at Respite Care. In addition, the cultivation from the garden can be used for meals and snacks at Respite Care, shared with other community organizations, or sold by the Respite Care teen program to provide emerging adults with money management experience. Our goal is to have the garden ready for planting.
