IBMC Fort Collins Hosts Blood Drive in Upcoming Weeks
Celebrate Heart Healthy Month with IBMC College by Giving the Gift of Life
On Tuesday, February 5, 2013, IBMC, a Fort Collins college, will be hosting a blood drive from 7:30am to 1:00pm. Faculty, staff, students, neighboring businesses and community members are invited to donate!
For faculty, staff and students interested in participating, sign-up sheets are available at the Education Desk. Walk-ins are always welcome and community members are invited to join the cause.
Some interesting facts about blood donation:
- Only 5 percent of eligible donors across the nation donate blood, but the number of transfusions nationwide increases by 9 percent every year.
- Whole blood donors can donate as frequently as every 56 days. A benefit from donating this often is that you receive a mini-physical once every two months.
- Each whole blood donation can help as many as three people.
