What to Expect as a Student

The Therapeutic Massage program provides an extensive education in the field of massage therapy, including instruction in several therapeutic modalities and medical courses.

You’ll receive constant feedback and one-on-one interaction throughout your classroom experience as a result of our small class sizes and dedicated faculty.

You’ll have the opportunity to grow, learn and develop dynamic relationships with your fellow classmates and instructors. Classes provide plentiful hands-on hours to hone your skills and enrich your education.

Upon completion of the program and successfully passing the MBLEX examination, students are eligible to apply for a license in the state of Colorado to become a Licensed Massage Therapist.

Volunteer Opportunities

During your time at IBMC College, you may have the opportunity to go off-campus and practice your new massage skills for local organizations such as:

  • United Way of Larimer County
  • Longmont Recreation Center
  • Catholic Charities
  • Suncrest Home Health and Hospice
  • Local 5K races and marathons

These events provide you with real work experience that can enhance your resume when applying for careers after graduation.

Hands-on Experience & Career Opportunities

Hands-on Experience

Clinical experience is incorporated to provide an integrated approach in learning the needed skills for competency in a professional massage practice.

Therapeutic Massage students gain real-world experience by perfecting their skills in the on-site Massage Clinics, which are open to the public. Students will interact with clients to gain confidence and master massage techniques and modalities.
