Manual Resurfacing Certification

Manual Resurfacing is a gentle, non-invasive method of exfoliating the skin to reduce dullness and reveal a smoother, brighter complexion. In this certification program, students learn the essential techniques used by cosmetologists and estheticians to safely deliver high-quality resurfacing services.

Course Description

A combined advanced‑skincare class teaching participants how to perform both mechanical exfoliation (microdermabrasion) and manual exfoliation plus vellus‑hair removal (dermaplaning). Students learn skin‑anatomy basics, proper sanitation and safety protocols, how to evaluate client skin for candidacy, and correct technique for each modality — including hands‑on practice. This course is aligned with Colorado DORA regulations.

This course is 14 hours over 2 days.

Students will cover materials in the following areas:

  • Structure of skin and exfoliation
  • Skin Analysis
  • Microexfoliation
  • Treatment Procedures
  • Cleaning, Disinfection and Sterilization
  • Safety, Laws and Rules
  • Occupational Safety and Health
  • Salesmanship

Qualifications:

  • Attendees must be a licensed Cosmetologist or Esthetician to enroll in this course.

Upon completion of this course students will meet the DORA requirements for providing Manual Resurfacing Techniques including Microdermabrasion and Dermaplaning.
