ABK Honor Society
Alpha Beta Kappa Honor Society
Alpha Beta Kappa is the premier national honor society for America’s private post-secondary schools, institutes, colleges, universities, and distance learning institutions—serving many institutions for the past 40 years. Student membership is based on the following criteria: leadership and service in class and school activities, personal integrity, good moral character and a 3.75 cumulative GPA—upon completing 40 credit hours. Alpha Beta Kappa places Chapters in institutions which have demonstrated high standards over a period of many years in the education and training of women and men in the numerous fields, trades and occupations essential to modern society.
Celebrating Student Success
Each year, dozens of IBMC College students from each campus are inducted into ABK. We honor these students with special recognition of their academic and social achievements during their graduation ceremony, where they are adorned with distinguishing honors cords. Students also receive a membership certificate and an Alpha Beta Kappa Gold Key.
Join ABK
Many prospective employers consider participation in honor societies a testament to your character and dedication to excellence. Members are invited to quarterly meetings, and given access to valuable resources like letters of recommendation for employers.
To join Alpha Beta Kappa, you’ll need to submit an application and proof of 2-4 completed volunteer hours to your Student Success Coach. You must hold a cumulative GPA of 3.75 after completing 40 credit hours.
