Corporate Food Fight: Fort Collins College Takes a Stand Against Hunger
Fundraising efforts to benefit the Food Bank for Larimer County draw support from students, staff and faculty at a local Fort Collins career college.
Throughout the month of April, IBMC College in Fort Collins participated in the Corporate Food Fight, hosted by the Food Bank for Larimer County. The Corporate Food Fight pits local businesses against one another in a friendly competition to determine who can raise the most food and funds to support the hungry of Larimer County.
At the Fort Collins campus, a variety of activities were held so that students, staff and faculty could participate in the fight against hunger. Activities included:
- April 8 & 22 – Campus Bake Sales
- April 15 & 29 – 10-Minute Chair Massages – provided by IBMC massage program graduates and student externs – 12pm-1pm & 5pm-6pm – suggested donation of $3-$5
- Tuesdays all month – Brown Bag It! – Employees and students were encouraged to pack their lunch and donate what they would have spent on a lunch out.
- Wednesdays all month – Jeans Day – Staff and students were able to “break dress code” and wear jeans every Wednesday with a $1 donation
- Thursdays all month – Food Drives
By month’s end, $1,000 and 250 pounds of food were donated to the Food Bank for Larimer County on behalf of IBMC College! In addition 10 staff members from the Fort Collins career college will be volunteering at the food bank on Friday, May 17th!
The Corporate Food Fight is a great community outreach program and IBMC College is honored to have been included in this year’s event!
