Domestic Violence is Serious: Don’t Wait to Start the Conversation

IBMC College will be holding special campus-only events on January 26-30, 2015, to support victims of domestic violence through fundraising for the National Coalition for Domestic Violence, as well as provide general education to staff, faculty and students. Sponsored visits from community resource personnel will also take place.

We care. Be aware. Start the conversation. That is the message IBMC College is sending to it’s students in support of ending domestic violence and offering victims a voice, hope, and healing.

During the week of January 26-30 at the Fort Collins, Greeley, Longmont, CO and Cheyenne, WY campuses, as well as the Home Office in Fort Collins, CO, over 300 staff and faculty members and more than 1,000 students are asked to participate in Jeans Days from January 26-29.

For a $1.00 per day, individuals may wear jeans, and all of the funds raised will be donated to the National Coalition for Domestic Violence, a company created to organize for collective power by advancing transformative work to end the violence.

In addition, IBMC’s Student Services Department will be offering out a list of local resources in the campus Weekly Insights, bringing in community resources to share information with students, staff and faculty, and providing printed resources materials on the Student Services boards and in the campus Resource Rooms.
