IBMC College Now Offers a Cosmetology Program in Fort Collins and Longmont

The Accrediting Council of Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) approved locally owned and operated IBMC College to begin enrolling students for classes in the areas of hairstyling, esthetics and nail technician services in the School of Cosmetology.

IBMC College, Northern Colorado’s leader for career training since 1987, announced today that they have opened a Cosmetology program at the Fort Collins campus, 3842 South Mason Street, and the Longmont location, 2315 North Main Street.

The Accrediting Council of Independent Colleges and Schools granted IBMC College with formal approval this afternoon – meaning that the Cosmetology Diploma program and individual certificate programs are now being offered at IBMC College’s locations in Fort Collins, Longmont, Greeley and Cheyenne.

In the Esthetician Certificate program, students learn how to perform skin services, including facials, make-up application and facial waxing.

IBMC College offers a state-of-the-art campus Student Beauty Services Clinic, affording future cosmetologists with the opportunity to perform a variety of hair, skin, and nail techniques on models and the general public, all under the supervision of licensed educators and professionals. In addition, each student is equipped with their very own program kits after enrolling, encompassing a wide-variety of tools and equipment.

In the Cosmetology Diploma program, students can train for a new career in beauty in as little as 14 months, or they have the options of pursuing an individual Hairstyling Certificate, Esthetician Certificate or Nail Technician Certificate programs.  As prescribed the Hairstyling Certificate program can be completed in 12 months, while the Esthetician Certificate and Nail Certificate programs each take six months to finish.

Throughout the coursework, students will learn how to develop a strong foundation of safety practices, customer service skills, business management, sales and marketing, and the training necessary to prepare for the State Board Examination.

Upon successful completion of the program and passing of the State Board Examination, cosmetology graduates will be certified as hairstylists, estheticians and nail technicians – with the ability to begin working in entry-level careers as Licensed Cosmetologists, in such places as beauty salons, health spas, medical offices, cosmetic stores, or in the role of vocational educators.
