IBMC Granted Six Year Accreditation by ACICS
IBMC of Northern Colorado and Southern Wyoming has Been Awarded Longest Renewal of Accreditation by ACICS
The Accrediting Council of Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) has awarded the Institute of Business and Medical Careers (IBMC) a six year accreditation, the longest accreditation ACICS provides to career colleges.
Although most grants of accreditation typically are a three year duration, IBMC continuously seeks to exceed the requirements of state, federal and accreditation standards throughout the Longmont, CO; Fort Collins, CO; Greeley, CO and Cheyenne, WY campuses.
Through accreditation, IBMC and other institutions demonstrate their commitment to the highest standards of educational conduct.
Achievement of accreditation by ACICS carries with it the responsibility for maintaining accreditation. Evaluation leading to accreditation is an evolving process, and the practices at an institution that meet accreditation expectations one year may not do so the next year. A critical responsibility of an accredited institution is to provide comment on proposed changes to these standards.
The Council, through research, attention to educational and market trends, and a commitment to require both ethical business and education practices at institutions, attempts to maintain minimum standards, policies, and procedures leading to institutional effectiveness. Only institutions that subscribe to these goals and strive daily to meet them should apply for initial or continuing accreditation by ACICS.
The Accrediting Council of Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) is a national accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
The scope of ACICS recognition by the Secretary of Education is defined as accreditation of private post-secondary institutions offering certificates or diplomas, and post-secondary institutions offering associate, bachelor’s, or master’s degrees in programs designed to educate students for professional, technical, or occupational careers, including those that offer those programs via distance education.
Recognition by CHEA affirms that standards and processes of accrediting organizations are consistent with quality, improvement, and accountability expectations that CHEA has established. In accordance with CHEA policies and procedures, more than half of ACICS’ accredited institutions are degree-granting.
