IBMC’s Guide to this Weekend’s Sizzlin’ Summer Events
Today is the summer solstice and the official start of summer. You know what that means – rodeos, live music, and festivals galore. For us Northern Coloradoans and for those of us in Cheyenne, we’re pretty spoiled when it comes to summertime entertainment.
Here’s a breakdown of some awesome events taking place this weekend that will help you get your summer started off right:
The Greeley Stampede is undoubtedly one of Northern Colorado’s favorite events. Over the course of two weekends (June 22 – July 4, 2012), Stampede goers are treated to lively rodeos, country music and rock concerts, carnival rides, the Western Art Show, free stage entertainment, and enough festival fare to keep your taste buds satisfied until next year. The 2012 Colorado Brewers’ Festival will take place this weekend, June 23 – June 24, 2012, in historic Downtown Fort Collins. Celebrating its 23rd annual event, the Colorado Brewers’ Festival has proved to be a longtime fan favorite. Enjoy Colorado’s finest beers from over 40 different breweries, fabulous food, conversations with brewers, and 15 bands playing live music on 2 different stages. Cheyenne SuperDay 2012 takes place on June 23, 2012, at Lions Park. From 10:00am to 5:00pm, children and adults of all ages are invited to attend the 30th annual HollyFrontier Superday for some summertime fun. There will be rides, refreshments, live music, games, contests, an art show, the Show & Shine Car Show, and much more. For those of you looking to get active, the event also hosts the HollyFrontier 5K/10K Walk or Run, the Jackson’s All-American Grill Volleyball Tournament, and the Tour de Prairie Cycling Adventure.
