IBMC College Names Chief Operating Officer
Former Ashford University Vice President, Mitch Thomas, has been hired as the COO at IBMC College for the Colorado and Wyoming campuses.
For the position of Chief Operating Officer, IBMC College has hired Mitch Thomas, a proven leader with nearly two decades of management and operational experience in the post-secondary college sector and a desire for changing the lives of students in Northern Colorado and Southern Wyoming.

Thomas will be responsible for overseeing company-wide operations at the IBMC college campuses in Fort Collins, Greeley and Longmont, Colorado, as well in Cheyenne, Wyoming, while jointly working with IBMC College’s Executive Committee and individual company departments to ensure that the college’s goals are met through operational excellence, budget management and organizational leadership.
Prior to joining IBMC College, Thomas served in an executive leadership capacity for one of the fastest growing educational companies in the United States. Over the span of the last nine years, he has been employed in the roles of Vice President of the Denver Online Center at Ashford University, Vice President of the Iowa Online Center at Ashford University, Vice President of Westwood College Online and Campus Director at Westwood College of Aviation Technology Los Angles.
Dating back to 1995-2004, Thomas worked as a Corporate Director of Student Services for Westwood College Corporate Headquarters, Regional Director of Admissions for Westwood College of Aviation Technology, Director of Admissions for Westwood College of Aviation Technology and Assistant Director of Admissions for DeVry University.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Western Illinois University and a Master of Science Degree in Organizational Leadership from Regis University. He currently serves as an Executive Committee member for Junior Achievement.
