IBMC College cosmetology students provide free haircuts during Denver-wide community event

Three IBMC College cosmetology students from the Fort Collins campus volunteered their time and services Saturday, Nov. 19, for Denver’s Fall Feast, a free community event that helps disadvantaged families and the homeless by feeding them, giving free haircuts, backpacks and clothing items, as well as featuring a Kids Zone, where kids can come and play in a safe environment.
The IBMC cosmetology students provided free hair-cutting services to at-risk families and the homeless during the event, held at the National Western Complex, located at 4655 Humboldt Street in Denver. With the rest of the volunteers, the IBMC students cut more than 125 heads of hair during the event, which served an estimated 1,000 people.
IBMC cosmetology instructor Ashley Wollert supervised the students and provided guidance and instruction. By the end of the day, the students were confident in their ability to cut hair properly.
The Denver Fall Feast was born out of the Cincinnati, Ohio Fall Feast – an event that is now celebrating nearly a decade of providing tens of thousands of Thanksgiving meals, healthcare screenings, warm winter items and youth activities to homeless and underserved people throughout the city.
