IBMC College Longmont campus welcomes two new faculty members
IBMC College Longmont campus is excited to announce two new hires in our education team. Erika Mathis brings real-world work experience to the classroom as Longmont’s newest business and accounting adjunct instructor; and Byron Borup will lead medical assisting classes as an adjunct instructor at the Longmont campus, located at 2315 N. Main Street.
Erika Mathis
IBMC College welcomes tax accountant, Erika Mathis, to the position of Adjunct Instructor, where she will teach students pursuing business and accounting careers. Mathis joins the IBMC College faculty with over eight years of accounting experience. Since 2008, she has been employed in the financial sector as a property accountant for ProLogis in Denver, and most recently, a tax accountant for CoorsTek in Golden.
Buckholz earned her master’s degree in taxation from University of Denver in 2012. She graduated in 2008 from the Metropolitan State College of Denver with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.
Byron Borup
With 18 years of diversified experience, Byron Borup will be a welcomed addition to the medical assisting instructing team at the Longmont campus. Borup possesses a background in medical education in both the military and private sector. Before coming to IBMC College, he was employed by Concorde Career College as its Medical Assistant and Medical Office Administration Programs Director. Previously, he has worked for Everest College, Vista College and Eagle Gate College, as program chairs and directors.
He graduated in 2006 from Capital University, where he earned his Masters of Science in Criminal Justice and Forensics. He has a bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration from Stevens–Henager College in Ogden, Utah, where in graduated in 2004.
Both Mathis and Borup will be beneficial to the students and staff at IBMC College.
