Mettler brings years of experience to IBMC College as its newest Longmont faculty member
Former analyst’s ‘love of teaching’ encouraged her to become a Medical Billing & Coding instructor
Longmont, Co. – IBMC College, a locally owned career-training institution, has named Kristy Mettler its new medical billing & coding instructor at its Longmont campus, 2315 N. Main St.
Mettler has spent the last 15 years in the field – bringing her real-world experience and countless hours of knowledge into the classroom.
When asked what inspired her to become an instructor at IBMC, Mettler responded with her “love of teaching and helping people learn new techniques.”
Before joining IBMC, Mettler worked as a quality manager at Flatirons Practice Management in Boulder, where she audited data entry work, along with coordinating and supervising the intern program. She also gained billing experience when she worked as an accounts receivable clerk at the same company. She interfaced with insurance companies, multiples clinics and clients to ensure claims were properly processed.
The programs at IBMC College allow students of all demographics to combine hands-on training in the classroom and real-world experience during a mandatory externship. IBMC gives technical training and practical skills to its students, preparing them for success in today’s competitive job market.
Mettler earned a bachelor’s degree in in liberal studies at the University of California – Riverside, where she later received her master’s degree in economics.
Her experience will be beneficial to the students and staff at IBMC College.
