20 Salons Participate in Fort Collins Campus Career Fair
IBMC College Cosmetology students were given an opportunity to network with area salons and businesses on July 26 as part of a career fair, held at the Fort Collins campus and organized by the College’s Career Services department.
Twenty local businesses attended looking for future cosmetologists, hairstylists, nail technicians, estheticians, and massage therapists from the pool of future IBMC College graduates. Each business presented the students with information about their organization, giveaways and the chance to ask questions about positions they had open. Some salons also gave the future cosmetologists a chance to win prizes by entering into a contest.
IBMC College’s Cosmetology Career Services Coordinator Stephanie Shores-Stephens spearheaded the event, which will also be held at the Greeley and Longmont campuses in August.
Representatives from the organizations were impressed by the nearly 30 students who participated in the career fair.
“Thank you for having us! We had a great time and loved talking with all of the students. They were articulate and knowledgeable and beautiful, as well! Can’t wait till the next one,” a representative from Fantastic Sams commented on a Facebook post about the event.
“Thanks for having us! Great students,” a representative from Georgia Michelle Yoder commented on a Facebook post about the event.
