IBMC College Offers Medical Assistant Training at Night
At IBMC College, it is our goal to make our training programs as achievable as possible for our students. We know our students are busy people – many juggle their education and training with family responsibilities, part-time, and even full-time jobs. By offering evening courses for our Medical Assistant program, we hope to make the program even more accessible to our students.
When are IBMC College’s PM Courses for Medical Assistant Training?
At our Longmont, Greeley, and Fort Collins campuses, the evening courses are offered Monday through Thursday, between the hours of 6 pm and 10 pm. These hours are designed to empower students to complete the program while still maintaining their current jobs.
What Kinds of Medical Assisting Programs Does IBMC College Offer?
IBMC offers two Medical Assisting programs, a diploma program and an Associate Degree program. The Clinical Medical Assisting Diploma program provides the essential training needed for entry level Medical Assisting careers, and can be completed in as few as 12 months.
The Medical Assisting Associates of Occupational Studies (AOS) Degree program provides these essential skills, plus more extensive education in psychology, mathematics, and communications as well as management skills in customer service, leadership ethics, and human resources. These advanced degree classes provide graduates with marketable skills that give them an edge when seeking employment. The Medical Assisting AOS Degree program can be completed in as few as 19 months.
What Will I Learn in IBMC College’s Medical Assisting Program?
At IBMC College, all students receive hands-on instruction by industry-trained instructors, attending lecture classes, and participating in medical clinical labs in small classes with plenty of one-on-one with your instructor. The emphasis of the program is on clinical skills, including instruction in medical terminology, medical office procedures, medical clinical procedures, as well as basic anatomy and physiology, and pharmacology. Learning alongside other students in labs, you will learn how to:
- Take vitals
- Deliver injections
- Prepare lab specimens
- Sterilize medical equipment
- Change dressings
- Remove sutures and casting
- Take EKGs
