Three Great Reasons to Train to be a Massage Therapist, with IBMC College!

If you are interested in health and holistic healing, massage therapy could be a good career choice for you. At IBMC College, we offer an excellent Therapeutic Massage training program to prepare you for this great career path. Here are three reasons to consider a career as a massage therapist:

Massage Therapists Help Others

As a massage therapist, you can use therapeutic touch to provide relaxation, relieve pain and stress, and rehabilitate injuries. Massage therapists perform sports massage to help with injuries, deep tissue massage to help with conditions like arthritis, prenatal massage to provide relief to expectant mothers-to-be, trigger point therapy for pain management, and more! Massage therapy is all about helping other people feel good, and as a massage therapist, you will be able to make a real difference in people’s lives. Knowing that your job makes other people’s lives better can feel very rewarding and ultimately provide you with great job satisfaction.

Massage Therapists Often Enjoy Flexible Schedules

Massage therapy can also be an appealing career because it offers flexibility and a wide range of lifestyle options. Many massage therapists work freelance or for themselves, enabling them to set their own working hours. Being a self-employed independent contractor allows you to choose how many days a week to work, or how many massages per week to perform. Massage therapists are often able to fit their career around their personal lives in a way that just isn’t possible with other careers. This flexibility can appeal to parents of young children, and people who wish to pursue other passions or part-time jobs as well.

Other massage therapists find employment in a variety of health and wellness settings, including spas and fitness centers, medical practices, physical therapy or chiropractic offices. Some massage therapists even work for hotels, resorts, cruise ships, or with sports teams.

Massage Therapists Work in a Relaxing Environment

Working environments are commonly associated with pressure and stress. But as a massage therapist, your working environment is an atmosphere where people can feel relaxed, let go of stress, and release tension. As a massage therapist, you can spend every day working in an environment specifically designed to create relaxation. By providing others with a calm and relaxing environment, you will also reap the benefits of spending a good portion of your time in that serene setting and state of mind.
