The Accrediting Council of Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) approved locally owned and operated IBMC College to begin enrolling students for classes in the areas of hairstyling, esthetics and nail technician services in the School of Cosmetology.
IBMC College, Northern Colorado’s leader for career training since 1987, announced today that they have opened a Cosmetology program at the Fort Collins campus, 3842 South Mason Street, and the Longmont location, 2315 North Main Street.
“For those that have always dreamed about a career in beauty, IBMC College can help turn those dreams into a reality through our high-quality educational training and job placement assistance,” stated Steve Steele, CEO, IBMC College. “We look forward to placing our graduates in rewarding cosmetology careers and providing the region with skilled hairstylists, estheticians, makeup artists, salon owners and nail technicians.”
The Accrediting Council of Independent Colleges and Schools granted IBMC College with formal approval this afternoon – meaning that the Cosmetology Diploma program and individual certificate programs are now being offered at IBMC College’s locations in Fort Collins, Longmont, Greeley and Cheyenne.
“Last June, we launched the Cosmetology program in Greeley and Cheyenne, due to a demand for this type of career training. The community has been very receptive. The opportunity to extend our Cosmetology program offerings in Fort Collins and Longmont will be a benefit to students in these areas, local employers and our economy.” Steve Steele, CEO, IBMC College
IBMC College offers a state-of-the-art campus Student Beauty Services Clinic, affording future cosmetologists with the opportunity to perform a variety of hair, skin, and nail techniques on models and the general public, all under the supervision of licensed educators and professionals. In addition, each student is equipped with their very own program kits after enrolling, encompassing a wide-variety of tools and equipment.
In the Cosmetology Diploma program, students can train for a new career in beauty in as little as 14 months, or they have the options of pursuing an individual Hairstyling Certificate, Esthetician Certificate or Nail Technician Certificate programs. As prescribed the Hairstyling Certificate program can be completed in 12 months, while the Esthetician Certificate and Nail Certificate programs each take six months to finish.
Throughout the coursework, students will learn how to develop a strong foundation of safety practices, customer service skills, business management, sales and marketing, and the training necessary to prepare for the State Board Examination.
Upon successful completion of the program and passing of the State Board Examination, cosmetology graduates will be certified as hairstylists, estheticians and nail technicians – with the ability to begin working in entry-level careers as Licensed Cosmetologists, in such places as beauty salons, health spas, medical offices, cosmetic stores, or in the role of vocational educators.
