The Fort Collins Campus President looks to inspire community leaders and learn from those who are devoted to shaping the future of our city.
On September 5, 2014, Eric Thompson, the Campus President at IBMC College in Fort Collins, was selected to participate in the 2014-2015 Fort Collins Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Fort Collins program.
“I thrive on the opportunity to serve people by providing effective leadership, creating and promoting effective team work and fostering a culture of excellence,” states Thompson.
The program is designed to broaden participant knowledge of the community, while enhancing leadership skills, encouraging contribution to the betterment of the Fort Collins community and increasing the strength and effectiveness of community leaders.
Furthermore, this program equips participants to respond to the current and future challenges of the community and provides opportunities for direct contact with influential people, businesses and organizations, all while achieving the goal of educating and motivating leaders who are committed to shaping the future of our community.
Thompson has served in a variety of higher education roles as the Fort Collins Campus President, Greeley Campus Director and Dean of Education for IBMC College. In addition, he worked as the Team Leader and Program Evaluator for the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools and Owner/Partner of The Conditioning Spa within the last 22 years.
Thirty-three current and emerging leaders were selected to participate in the program. Participants come together once a month for nine months for day-long sessions to learn about growth, environment and community planning. They will also learn about local government, public safety and community assistance, economic development, small business assistance, health care, history, diversity, community betterment, education, life-long learning, team building and leadership development.
